A client in Bloomingdale Illinois wanted a hardwood floor that was more interesting than the normal hardwood floor installation. They opted to include a walnut feature strip border to add some simple, yet stunning, visual interest to their home. Together we decided that installing the four inch red oak hardwood flooring on a diagonal would make the beautiful simplicity of the border stand out better.
The project spanned the complete first floor of their home including the kitchen, dining room, living room, and connecting hallways.
To keep their new hardwood floors as seamlessly beautiful as possible, we installed flush mounted wood flooring vents.
After installation was completed the entire new hardwood floor was sanded to eliminate any irregularities between the border and flooring, then stained, and finally finished with an oil based polyurethane to ensure their new hardwood floors would look like new for decades to come.
